Marinated Steak

This is an incredibly versatile marinade and has become my “go-to” for meats or fish (especially salmon).  Don’t toss it once the marinading is complete.  Warm it and pour it on top.  It’s so good you’ll be eating it every meal.

Marinade (for steak or fish)

1/4 onion
2 cloves garlic
Piece of ginger (about size of your thumb)
1/2 tsp honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil

Dice the onion, garlic and ginger. (Grating the ginger is optional). Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Marinate the meat/fish for min 1 hour, max 24.  Grill, saute or broil. Before serving take any leftover marinade that’s not been soaked up, boil it in a saucepan for about 3 mins (to kill any potential pathogens from the raw meat) and pour over the meat/fish.

Makes enough for about 1/2 lb meat.
