The simplest pizza margarita ever … You can certainly add the step of making your own pizza dough if you wish, but most stores sell balls of dough in the freezer section that work magnificently.
Pizza Margarita
Pizza dough for one pizza
Flour and cornmeal
Olive oil
3/4 cup tomato sauce
1 tomato
Fresh basil
1 cup mozzarella cheese (Hard or fresh/soft)
1 tsp oregano
Salt
Set oven to 375. Apply thin layer of flour and cornmeal to pizza stone (or cookie sheet if you don’t have a stone) and to the dough. Spread dough flat ensuring there are no tears. Top the dough with a thin layer of olive oil. Ladle pizza sauce on top of the olive oil layer. Leave at least a half inch on the edges for the crust. Thinly slice the tomato and place on top of sauce. Place basil leaves oregano and a shake of salt. Shred or slice the mozzarella cheese and add as the final layer. Place in oven and check for readiness every 10 minutes (will likely take about 30 mins). Once the cheese has started browning and the crust appears firm, you’re done!
